Overview

On a fast-track schedule with designs coming from London, GS Associates worked closely with Adam Tihany Design in New York and local architects Allegro Interior Architecture, procuring samples for approval and setting manufacturing in motion to achieve a classic street-side bistro from Daniel Boulud. Collaboration with hotel operations, the designer, and Mandarin Oriental’s project team was seamless throughout.

The Challenge

A fast-track schedule leaves no slack in the procurement clock, and this program spanned a designer in New York, design direction out of London, and a signature restaurant concept, all converging on one Boston opening. Keeping sampling, approvals, and manufacturing moving in parallel was essential to hold the date.

The Design Team

Interior design was led by Adam Tihany Design in New York, working with local architects Allegro Interior Architecture, to realize interiors that included a classic street-side bistro from chef Daniel Boulud.

Our Scope

We drove the FF&E procurement on a compressed timeline: securing samples for approval, placing orders, and setting manufacturing in motion so long-lead items would not slip the opening.

Throughout, we coordinated directly with hotel operations, the design team, and Mandarin Oriental’s project team, keeping every party working from the same schedule and the same specification.

The Outcome

The result is a seamless luxury interior, including the Daniel Boulud bistro, delivered on a fast-track schedule through close collaboration among the designer, operator, and our procurement team.
