The Liberty Hotel

Located at the foot of Beacon Hill, The Liberty Hotel is an imaginative transformation of the storied Charles Street Jail, a national historic landmark and architectural gem built in 1851. Now 298 rooms and suites allow guests to take in breathtaking views of the Boston skyline and Charles River. Guests partake in the offerings of five outstanding restaurants and bars while being able to conduct some of the city’s most fun business in 6,000 square feet of event space. The landmark building located next to Massachusetts General Hospital was the vision of Dick Friedman and Darren Messina from Carpenter & Company. Renovating the old Jail to meet the architectural preservation requirements, adding a new rooms tower, the design team of Cambridge Seven and Alexandra Champalimaud, with the procurement expertise of the GS team completed the Liberty Hotel that now is considered on the most unique and breathtaking hotel lobby experiences in the world.
